The beginning of the game is not hidden far back in time. Just 38 years ago, the creators of the game came up with the idea of organizing entertainment based on stalking an opponent. At first the game received a different name – “Capture the Flag!” It consists of striving to capture the opposing team’s flag and returning with it to your own base. The following year, paintball became a game of national survival. Outdoor and indoor fields appeared one after another, and the game spread from the American to the European continent. The fact that this game is practiced in 40 countries around the world, by people of different ages, professions and lifestyles, makes it a universal means of entertainment.
This is a game that involves shooting with special gas guns called markers, which fire spherical balls using a jet of carbon dioxide or compressed air under pressure. The balls are actually two thin layers of gelatin filled with liquid water-based paint in various colors. When a fired ball collides with an obstacle along its path, the gelatin bursts and the spot or body that is hit is colored in bright paint.
The markers resemble a real weapon, the players are equipped like soldiers, which makes the game look extreme and even dangerous, but this is only in appearance. Paintball is one of the safest games. It is a kind of sport, but by no means a war.
The game is team-based. And very fun. The two opposing teams strive to capture the opposing team’s flag, or to eliminate the opposing players by shooting them with paintballs. A hit player must raise their hands high and shout that they are marked, and then leave the field without removing their protective mask.
